Does writer's procrastination syndrome have you feeling lost and unmotivated? Do you feel like you’ll never reach your writing goals? Here’s a few tips and tricks to help you express yourself, learn your voice, and stay on track. Free writing is a stress-free way to help clear your mind, build upon your craft, and write without overthinking it. If you’re having a hard time focusing or putting pen to paper, try this technique. There’s no right or wrong way to do this, but here’s a little inspiration; • Get rid of all distractions: Turn your phone on do not disturb and decide when the best time to write is for you and stick with that same time daily. • Write your thoughts for the day: You do not need to structure anything, just allow your pen to flow freely on paper. • Give yourself 10-15 minutes: Set a timer if you need to. You may be surprised by how much you can write in a short amount of time. • After you finish writing, walk away from it: This gives you a fresh prospective for when you go back to your writing. If you find yourself in writers’ procrastination this summer, freewriting may be the trick to get your words flowing again!
