Have you ever felt life press its way against you? Questioning “why me?” and tying to be a fixer? Has family issues, job drama, or church hurt downed you in a sea of confusion? Some days I feel like life is pressing up against me; my trying to be strong for 8 older siblings who have been though things I couldn’t imagine, while dealing with my own journey life, and struggling to mend those relationships is challenging for sure. Sometimes I am tired of “being the strong one” and having to “keep it moving”. When I complain about being tired, I am told “You are the chosen one!” The chosen one… sure. I am not trying to be ungrateful but sometimes its rough to “keep it moving”.
Well, I have decided to learn how to release what I am struggling with, its not an easy task but it is a necessary one. I began to study the scriptures and I am leaning to Press pass life’s circumstances. One thing that has become so very clear to me is that God allows us to go through struggles, issues, heartbreaks, job loss, car repossessions, sickness, the passing of a loved one, divorce, etc., because he wants us to press forward.
The PRESS! “To press is “to push oneself through whatever one is going through, standing on the Word of God and His promises. Successfully dealing with the circumstances of life with the realization that God is involved in the situation is a great example of faith” (Robinson, p. 17-18).
Philippians 3:14 which says, “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
