The curve ball of writing

Have you ever been in a position where you feel like you are hitting a blank with your writing? Writing is complex and can take a lot out of you. While writing whatever you are writing, whether it be a play, a short story, a paper, or a book; there will be curve balls along the way. One day as I was brainstorming writing, I received a call from my sister stating she was ill. I had to decide, am I going to continue writing or am I going to stop? At this point, I was not going to see her for a few hours. I had become so inundated with the curve ball that came my way that I put my pen down and decided to walk. What a curve ball it was. My sister had cancer, I thought, cancer again. It was one of the most devastating curve balls of writing I had ever experienced. I am sharing this to say, curve balls will come but the decision of whether or not to move forward or to pause is up to you. Either way, curve balls will come. The ball is in your court, will you allow the curve balls of writing to stop you or propel your writing forward?
